A unique accommodation in an ecological Igluhut (treehouse) at Nuuksio Reindeer Park.
The Igluhut offers a rustic experience in the middle of Nuuksio National Park, about 30 km/30 min from Helsinki city centre and the airport.
A handcrafted Iglu cabin is made from natural materials. The design is unique combining the centuries-old shingle technology with modern knowledge and craftwork. The exterior is covered with spruce shingles, aspen has been used in the interior, total over 2500 units.
Accommodation for two persons is including linen, towels, eco toilet, hand-washing facilities, electric heating, mini-fridge, electric kettle, water/coffee/tea and a bucketful of lichen for feeding reindeer. During the summer season, a separate shower room is available outside and a grill on the outdoor terrace. Pets are not allowed in the hut.
Check-in is at 15:00 and check-out at 11:00. Upon arrival, the guide will take you on a short visit to the reindeer park and tells you about reindeer which you can feed. The hut also has buckets of lichen for feeding reindeer through the window.
Neighboring the National Park, the location is conveniently accessible directly to the wilderness around. Marked nature trails are accessible just around the corner. The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia is located about 1 km away from the Igluhuts. The Ski Center Swinghill / Bike Park is located 700 m away from the Igluhuts.

| Driving instructions: | Helsinki-Turku motorway-Nupurintie-Nuuksiontie: Turn right to Kehä III (Ring III east) from Turku motorway after IKEA. Take the first exit and turn left (Veikkola). Go under Kehä III and drive along the Nupurinie (road no 110). Drive about 5 km and turn right: Nuuksio/Solvalla. After passing the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia, drive 1,1 km and turn right after the crosswalk. Sign Karhunpesä and reindeer advertisement on the right. A private parking space in the yard. |
