Toriseva ravine lakes

Following in the footsteps Runeberg, Finland’s national poet, by the Toriseva ravine lakes. It is said that this was the area where his character Ensign Stål encountered his many adventures, and the landscape has also been immortalised in many works of art. No wonder these views inspire all kinds of travellers. The area is guarded by Alainen, Keskinen and Yläinen, the brothers of the Toriseva ravine lakes in Jäähdyspohja, Virrat. The ravines are formed of powerful rocks and rough banks. The nature trails around the lakes feature signposts depicting the history and nature of the area.
