Häme castle

The secrets of the vaults will be revealed at Häme Castle! Medieval Häme Castle and its bastion stand proudly on Lake Vanajavesi in Hämeenlinna. The red walls have witnessed the goings-on in their surroundings since the 14th century: the battles during the Great Northern War, the war heroes and casualties of the Second Northern War, and they have also concealed stories of some prisoners of the Russian Empire. The castle houses the Artillery Museum, the Prison Museum and the Hämeenlinna Historical Museum.
