Villa Lepola is a new luxurious guest house built in 2012. There is a beautiful view straight to the Lake Vanajavesi. The nearest neighbour is a private summer cottage located about 70 metres away from the villa. There is a cliff in-between, so there is no straight visual contact.
The floor area of the villa comprises ca. 149m2/176 m2. The foundations are of concrete but the building material is log. The villa has underfloor heating, and it is heated with an environment-friendly geothermal heating system.
On the first floor, there is a sauna with a wood-stove, a bathroom with a toilet, a living room with a fireplace, a bedroom with two beds + two extra beds for children and an utility room. From the sauna and the living room there is a spectacular view to the lake. Firewood and wireless internet connection (WLAN) is included into the rent of the villa.
On the second floor, there are two bedrooms: the master bedroom is equipped with a double bed and the other bedroom with two single beds. Ridges, lakes, fields, forests, and marches are typical of the landscape in the Häme region. Kriipis island and the surrounding water areas are included in the Finnish Natura 2000 areas, network of nature protection areas. Here you can also observe a variety of water birds, such as ducks, terns, great crested grebes and swans. Deer, elks, and foxes are common in this area. At dusk, you can spot white-tailed deer moving near the cottages. The guest house is located next to the popular outdoor area Tenhola hills. On the Tenhola hills you can find exquisite hiking routes. In Finland, everybody has right to walk in a forest and pick berries and mushrooms (this is included in the statutory everymans rights). On the hills there are ideal possibilities for it. The berry season ranges from July to August, and mushrooms can be found from August till the end of October. The large lake Vanajavesi provides excellent possibilities for fishing all year round.
Several amusement parks and spas in the vicinity can be reached by car in an hour. One of the biggest shopping centres in Scandinavia, Ideapark, is located about 50 km (35 minutes drive) from the cottages. The nearest city (16 km) Hämeenlinna is also located by the lake Vanajavesi. Hämeenlinna is the oldest town in the interior of Finland. In Hämeenlinna you can find, for example, the Aulanko nature reserve (there you can also find the nearest spa), the Häme Castle dating back to the Middle Ages, and various interesting museums.
There are also several golf clubs in and nearby Hämeenlinna. The nearest is the Hattula Golf, which is located only 10 km from the cottages.
In winter, you can go to cross-country skiing on the Tenhola hills or skate on the ice of the lake.
The nearest downhill ski centres are Kalpalinna (30 km) and SkiSappee (50 km). A snowmobile route passes only about 200 metres from the cottage Bulrush and 300 metres from the cottage Waterlily.
It is possible to rent a motor boat, Buster S with 20 hp motor (Honda). The length of the boat is 4.58 m, the beam 1.88 m and the boat can fit four people (300 kg). The boat is equipped with a rod holder for fishing. 25 litres fuel is included in the rates. We advise to make the reservation in advance.

The fishing possibilities on the lake Vanajavesi are excellent. Zander is the most important fish caught in Lake Vanajavesi. Other important fish are whitefish, pike, perch, rainbow trout and bream. With some fisherman's luck, you may also catch an eel.
