Vanha Laattaja is traditional log house/log cabin in the middle of hilly landscapes in Northern Kainuu region. Location is approximately in the center of the triangle, which vertexes are Hyrynsalmi, Puolanka and Suomussalmi.
Log house is suitable for accommodation and for organizing small-scale parties and meetings. Log house has been renovated. Kitchen and WC (with shower) have been renewed in 2022.
There is a shower in the WC.

Heating is provided by electric radiators in all rooms. In addition, the living room has a large baking oven and wood stove. The second bedroom has fireplace.
The WC has floor heating.

In the yard, there is a separate sauna with wood-burning sauna stove. Washing water is traditionally heated in a cauldron. Firewood can be picked up from the woodshed in the yard.

In winter, the yard area is maintained (snow removal) with a tractor. In winter, there is a path on the snow leading to the sauna.

Two spreadable sofas in the living room. In the bedrooms, one has double bed and the other, 2 sigle beds and children's bed that can be pulled out.
The equipment includes all necessary dishes, pots and kitchen utensils, ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, cold and hot water and bed linen.

Ukkohalla: Tourist center (by the lake Syväjärvi), with area information, shop, restaurant, spa, ski resort, snowmobile trails, ski trails, program services, swimming beach and wakeboard trail in summer (more information at www.ukkohalla.fi).
Distance to Ukkohalla services 10.0 km.
Airport Kajaani 90 km, Oulu 170 km, Helsinki 650 km, bus stops Hyrynsalmi 24 km (national road 5) and Kytömäki approx. 500 m (bus line: Oulu-Puolanka-Suomussalmi), railway station in Kontiomäki approx. 70 km.

The cabin is available on the day of arrival at 16:00 and on the day of departure you have to leave there by 12:00.
