Nangujärvi wilderness cabin

Nangujärvi cabin, built 1998, is situated at the southern shore of lake Nangujärvi (distance approx. 20 m). It is near the wilderness area of Tsarmitunturi and 28 km from Ivalo towards the Russian border. Shore is in natural state, but there is a pier and swim ladder.

The cabin comprises a combined living room/kitchen. Bed in sleeping alcove, 2 mattresses on the loft, convertible sofa in the living room. Fireplace/iron stove, gas stove and oven, solar panel lighting (approximately between 1.3. - 31.10.) and candle lighting, indoor sauna. Outdoor toilet, ground cellar. No yard furniture.

Pier, rowing boat, smoking box, site for an open fire. Drinking water from the lake. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. Notice: this cabin requires outdoor skills. WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customers arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesnt check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented).
This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If youre not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended.

Cabin can not be reached by car; in summer distance from the parking place 300 m. In winter car must left on Raja-Jooseppi roadside, skiing distance approx. 9 km (can drive by snowmobile) Note! Spring thaw period usually during late April - late May, during that time it might not be possible to go to the cabin at all.
