65 km south-west of Salo, lake Björkbodanjärvi 30 m, beach 90 m (length 2,5 km, width 600 m), shallow, sanded children's beach, when you go deeper there is mud bottom, the beach has a lot of aquatic vegetation, but there is still possibility for swimming, jetty, own boat. Björkbodanjärvi is a small (180 ha) inland lake in Kemiönsaari, which is one of Finland's largest islands.
Wooden house 1701, renovated 2013. Spacious kitchen where one bed, bedroom with double bed and one single bed, living room with 2 single beds and 1 convertible sofa bed, toilet / shower room, hallway, small terrace, barbeque area in yard, no sauna in the building.
On the beach there is sauna building which is in shared use with the people living in the region. Sauna can be used free of charge, but the sauna turns must be booked in advance.
In the sauna building there is a large dressing room / living room with fireplace, large washroom (2 showers), steam room (heated by customer).
In addition by separate agreement/ payment possibility to rent a big sauna (suitable for max. 20 persons, eg. for special occasions), which is heated by the owner by a separate charge. The sauna's heating takes 5 hours. Old former ironworks supervisor apartment, built in the early 1700s. Factory workers used to live in modest dwellings nearby. Today, the cottage has been restored under supervision of Finnish Museum bureau. Björkboda Village and Manor is a historic industrial area, where iron has been processed for agricultural and household needs since the 1800s. From the early 1900s to today, there are manufactured locks and fittings. Nowadays locks are manufactured in AssaAbloy name.
Ruukki area is quite densely built, neighbors are close and can be seen. Yard area is grassed, bright and spacious. The nearest neighboring house is right next door. There is also a large former warehouse building near. It is currently used as the manor's machine's warehouse.
Nowadays part of Björkboda Manor business is agriculture and forestry, horse business (big new riding arena and riding trails), farm tourism, and hunting trips for big groups. There are large hiking routes, as well as for horses and for humans, lean-place and sauna 2 km away (free of charge to customers, sauna turns must be booked).
Dalsbruk 12 km, Kasnäs (eg. Sinisimpukka Visitor Centre and spa, sea trips to Örö fort island and to Bengtskär lighthouse island 30 km, Meri-Teijo ski and golf center 45 km, Bjärkas golf 15 km, Kemiö 18 km, Salo 65 km.
