Komio Nature Reserve

Loppi

Komio Nature Reserve is situated the middle of the Tavastia Lake Uplands where marked hiking and bike trails wind through the wild Finnish nature. The landscape was formed thousands of years ago during the Ice Age. Komio trails vary between light and challenging. One can take a short walk along the Pikku Samo or Luutaharju Samo Trail or tackle the more challenging Poronpolku Route, which takes you to Pirunlinna, an area of large glacial boulders grouped together during the later stages of the Ice Age. The walk will take you through an esker forest, where mysterious pines reach straight to the sky. From the Komiovuori viewing point you can see over the impressive landscape. After the hiking tour and before leaving the area for the parking place, you can take a tour across the wooded wetland along the broadwalks and take in the smell of morass. You can end your hike by Luutalammi lake and its campfire site. Hopefully there will still be enough food left in your backpack.

Pikku Samo (3,5 km), Luutaharjun Samo (6,5 km), Poronpolku (30 km) ja Hämeen Ilvesreitti (200 km)
