Salkosaari cabin is an ideal choice for people who want to spend a peaceful holiday close to the nature. The wilderness cabin on its own island. The island is protected and it is a beautiful and peaceful holiday destination. There are no other cabins on the island. Rowing distance to the island is 230 m.

60 km west from Kuopio, lake Pohjois-Konnevesi 30 m, rocky, rapidly deepening beach at the boat site, no pier. Near the sauna, on the other side of the island, shallow sand/stone-bottomed beach, pier. Own rowing boat for trips to/from the cabin.

Log-built wilderness cabin (built in 1985), living area with kitchenette, dining group for four, sofa bed (160 x 200 cm bed when spread), and another sofa bed (140 x 190 cm bed when spread on the floor). Outdoor toilet, separate lakeside sauna (wood-heated sauna stove, water to the sauna must be brought by using a bucket) located on the other side of the island (distance 100 m).

There is an open fireplace for heating in the living area. The cabin has a solar panel-based electricity system. The lighting is powered by it. The refrigerator is a high-quality compressor cabinet that is also powered by solar panels. The solar panel's charging control has two USB connectors that can be used to charge a mobile phone, for example. Guests bring own cables. The owner will provide a container of 10 liters of drinking water. More water can be picked up from the owner during your stay.

Bed linen cannot be purchased as an additional service in this destination, so please bring your own bed linen and towels with you. Salkosaari is a protected island, and therefore it is kept in a natural state. Here you can spend a perfect holiday in your own peace. Magnificent view over the lake Pohjois-Konnevesi. There are very good fishing waters around the island. Picking berries cannot be easier, the berry forest starts right next to the stairs. There is a kettle grill (charcoals and ignition fluid are ready) and a campfire site in the cabin. The campfire site is located next to the boat site.

The fishing permit for fishing with a net is included in the price (please bring your own fishnets).
