Olavinlinna

A medieval castellan entertains his guests at Olavinlinna Castle. The massive towers and the castle on the rocks were built in the 15th century. Since then, the castle has seen many kinds of governors, both Russian and Swedish. Its history is sprinkled with stories of the castellan’s daughters, secret underground passages and legends of the powers of the black stream. Today, the castle is a tourist attraction that offers its guests opera and theatre as well as wonderful views from the watchtower.
