Pihlajanmarja is located on a sunny, flat and lawn plot near the lake Kukasjärvi. There are amenities in the cabin. Wood burning sauna stove in yard sauna offers nice steams and provide relaxing moments in sauna.

100 km to the north from Rovaniemi, lake Kukasjärvi 180 m (length 12 km, width 0,3 km), shallow beach, swimming is possible, own rowing boat. There is a separate sauna cabin (not available at the moment) on the beach.

Log cabin, built in 2009. Living room/kitchen, bedroom with double bed, loft with 3 beds, washroom/WC, covered porch and balcony. In the living room kitchen a heat-storing fireplace-baking oven and a small electric oven that can fit a 30x30 cm baking sheet. Also equipped with an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and a travel cot.

The yard sauna is located in the outbuilding. The steam room in the sauna is equipped with wood-burning sauna stove and water tank connected to the sauna stove. The tank can be used for water heating. There is electric light in the sauna. Water to the sauna can be taken from the water supply located on the outer wall of the building. A separate hose can be used. Pihlajanmarja is located by a long and narrow lake. It is an ideal base for many kinds of wilderness activities.

Fishing: Fishing in lake Kukasjärvi is permitted with fisheries management fee. One fishing rod and lure can be used. For more information, see www.eraluvat.fi. You don't need permission to ice fishing or angling on the lake.
Fishing in rapids is also possible. An excellent destination is river Meltausjoki, which starts from the lake Unarinjärvi within 12 km distance. There is good grayling population in river Meltausjoki. Destination 2561 Meltausjoki (www.eraluvat.fi).

Hunting: State owned small game hunting areas 2613 Maunu and 3606 Vasaselkä easily accessible (see www.eraluvat.fi).

Unarinköngäs rapid in Meltausjoki (about 15 km) is well suited as a destination for a wilderness excursion. Kierinki village 16 km. There are services like grocery shop, fuel sales, café-restaurant, art gallery, private restaurant, program service companies offering nature experiences and snowmobile rental in the village. Check the opening hours in advance.
