Southern Konnevesi National Park - Cottages and Vacation Rentals

The Southern Konnevesi National Park features crystal clear waters and rugged cliffs. The best way to explore this park of osprey and wild lake trout is by canoe or boat. The M/S Myllykoski and M/S Autere carry cruise customers from the Häyrylänranta pier to the national park. Several of the rest stops on the islands are suitable for picnic trips and overnight outings. For those who enjoy hiking, the Southern Konnevesi National Park offers challenging, well-marked trails with breathtaking views and old-growth forests guarded by giant aspen trees. Reserve plenty of time and take sturdy footwear for your trek in this hilly terrain. The Vuori-Kalaja lean-to shelter is accessible for everyone, via an easy, one kilometre forest path, or all the way by taxi for the disabled. The most agile visitors can walk the entire Kalajan kierros circular trail (4.6 km); it is easy to spend up to two days on the 14 km “Kolmen vuoren vaellus” -trail (Three Mountains hiking trail). The wide range of services in the towns of Konnevesi and Rautalampi offer everything from lunch restaurants to public beaches.
